I would not change that function the way you did, by the way, that is a core function in the script, and it's used by both the os and browser version detections.

I will however post a patched version, and may add in a specific trident handling. In fact, I think that's a good idea in general.

IE: if Trident, get version, if 4, then MSIE =8

Please check version 5.3 of the script for updated compatibility mode handling, it also now has a return value: true_msie_version that returns the real version of msie if compatibility mode is on.

There's also an update version of the Your Computer Info box script that lets you show this data.

I redid the main get number function to allow for more flexible switches of the number count breaks, since this issue may come up in the future for other browsers or operating system data.
